A Rust backend and GPUI interface target a fast, cross-platform desktop and browser experience without relying on an Electron shell.
Loom is a cross-platform environment for coding-agent sessions. Run agents against real repositories, follow their work as it happens, and stay in control from plan to review.
RUST BACKEND · NATIVE + BROWSER CLIENT · SELF-HOSTABLE
Loom is built around where the work runs, how the interface feels, and who stays in control.

Run Loom near your repositories and services, then connect from a native or browser client. Your workflow isn't tied to one machine.
Run open code on infrastructure you control, with explicit permissions for workspace access, tools, and credentials.
Start a session with a repository and a goal. Loom keeps the work visible and gives you a clear place to step in.
Under the hood · 2 details
Loom builds its interface with GPUI and shares its core views, state, and interactions across native desktop and browser WASM. The browser is a first-class client, not a reduced chat window.
Run Loom natively and its host is a worker out of the box—no separate node to set up. Add external workers when you want agents to run beside other repositories or services. The browser client has no local worker, so it connects to a separately running Loom backend. Sessions keep running if the client disconnects.
“A remote-first agent workspace, portable from desktop to browser and built to stay under your control.”
